answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/07/2020 answer text <p>I am very grateful to faith leaders across the country for the leadership they have shown on behalf of their communities during this crisis.</p><p>I am also grateful to the Places of Worship Taskforce, which met again last week, and which has been extremely productive. There are still issues we are working through together, including music for services and singing.</p><p>As of the 4<sup>th</sup> of July, places of worship were allowed to re-open with social distancing in place. Today they are able to hold services, or lead communal worship, and important events in the lives of their communities, such as weddings and funerals. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/06/2020 answer text <p>At the start of this pandemic we advised Clinically Extremely Vulnerable people to shield - to not leave their homes and avoid face-to-face contact – and we set up the National Shielding Service; a huge logistical exercise unprecedented since the Second World War.</p><p>This has included delivering over 3 million free food boxes to date, securing priority supermarket slots, getting people’s medicines delivered to their doorstep, and social contact.</p><p>On 1 June, following clinical advice, we announced that clinically extremely vulnerable people in England can spend time outdoors with members of their household, or with one other person from another household if they live alone, while continuing to follow social distancing guidelines.</p><p>The next review will take place this week. As part of this, the Government will consider the next steps for shielding beyond 30 June. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/01/2020 answer text <p>To date, Government has issued no guidance to local planning authorities about consideration of planning applications during the pre-election period. <br> <br>Within my Department, caution is exercised during both general and local election periods, with no substantive decisions issued. During these periods, where I receive a request to intervene in a case, or a case is referred to me by an authority, I am able to delay a grant of planning permission while I consider whether or not to call-in an application, by means of a holding direction issued under section 31 of the Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (England) Order 2015.</p><p>Local authorities should exercise good judgement about whether it is appropriate to determine cases of local or national significance or controversy during a pre-election period of sensitivity. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/07/2019 answer text <p>A number of respondents to last year’s call for evidence on single use plastic waste suggested that an incineration tax could discourage incineration and promote more environmentally beneficial forms of waste management.</p><p>At Budget 2018, the Chancellor announced that he would not at this point be taking forward a tax on the incineration of waste. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/07/2019 answer text <p>At Budget 2018, the government announced its intention to tackle the scourge of single-use plastic waste through the introduction of a new tax on plastic packaging which does not contain a sufficient amount of recycled content, taking effect from April 2022. This world-leading new tax will provide a clear economic incentive for businesses to use more recycled material in the production of packaging, instead of using virgin plastic. It will achieve similar objectives to a tax on virgin plastics, but in a more targeted and effective way.</p><p> </p><p>Earlier this year, the government launched a consultation seeking views on the initial proposed design for the tax. It is the responsibility of line managers to ensure employees are not working excessive hours.</p><p> </p><p>HM Treasury operates a flexible working hours scheme which allows staff to take time off in lieu at a later date if they work over agreed working hours, within agreed limits, and ensuring compliance with the Working Time Regulations 1998. Where it is not appropriate or possible to take time off in lieu of hours worked, staff may be paid for these additional hours at plain time rate, in line with our overtime policy.</p><p> </p><p>It is in the interests of the health, safety and wellbeing of our staff that work in excess of the normal hours of duty in a week should not be consistently required. We are keen to ensure that all staff enjoy a good work life balance and are currently upskilling our Senior Civil Service in managing staff wellbeing – as of December 2018 we had already achieved 78% attendance. It is with this in mind that we strongly recommend that time off in lieu be taken in the event of working excess hours.
