As of the end of March 2023, around 24,600 vulnerable people have been brought to the UK. This figure includes British nationals evacuated under Operation Pitting.</p><p>It is vital that those arriving have somewhere suitable to stay once they are in the UK. We have robust safeguarding procedures in place to ensure all young people in hotels are safe and supported as we seek urgent placements with a local authority.</p><p>Young people are supported by team leaders and support workers who are on site 24 hours a day. Further care is provided in hotels by teams of social workers and nurses. All contingency sites have security staff on site 24/7 and providers liaise closely with local police to ensure the welfare and safety of vulnerable residents.</p><p>As of 05 June, there were 154 young people missing.</p><p>If any child goes missing, including an accompanied asylum seeking child, the MARS (Missing After Reasonable Steps) protocol is followed. A multi-agency, missing persons meeting is chaired by the local authority to establish the young person's whereabouts and to ensure that they are safe. Similar protocols within police forces have safely reduced the number of missing episodes from placements by 36%.</p><p>The Home Office continue to work with the police and local authorities to ensure the children in our care are safe. First, a review can be conducted through an internal Home Office review by a senior decision maker not involved with the original decision (Tier 1). If someone is still dissatisfied, an independent review is conducted by the Adjudicator’s Office (Tier 2).</p><p>Information relating to the number of Windrush Compensation Scheme claims that applied for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 review is included in Windrush Compensation Scheme Transparency Data.</p><p>The latest Transparency data for the Compensation Scheme was published on 1 June 2023, which covers the period up to the end of April 2023. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/06/2023 answer text <p>Through the Ex-Gratia Scheme we relocated c.1,400 people including Locally Engaged Staff and their immediate families to the UK.</p><p>The Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP), announced on 29 December 2020 and launched on 1 April 2021, was established to follow on from and replace the Ex-Gratia Scheme which ran until November 2022, at which point the ARAP became the single route for relocation.</p><p>The provision of integration support by local authorities to those relocated to the UK under ARAP accommodation by local authorities is detailed in funding instructions which can be found here. These funding instructions set out the conditions under which the funding is disbursed, the outcomes required and the processes to be followed to claim funds. They also provide more detailed definitions of eligibility.</p><p>These funding instructions also outline how the provision of support is to be evaluated and monitored. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/06/2023 answer text <p>The latest <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/immigration-system-statistics-year-ending-march-2023" target="_blank">Immigration system statistics, year ending March 2023 - GOV.UK</a> (published on 25 May 2023), show that a total of 21,004 people have been resettled in the UK under the Afghan schemes – the Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme (ACRS) and the Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP).</p><p> </p><p>We do not want to see Afghan families and individuals in bridging accommodation for any longer than is necessary – and we are working alongside c.350 local authorities to support all Afghan families and individuals, including those relocated here under the ARAP, into homes of their own. From the end of April 2023, the government began issuing families and individuals in hotels and serviced accommodation 3 months legal notice to leave their temporary accommodation.</p><p> </p><p>Dedicated multi-disciplinary teams, consisting of Home Office Liaison Officers, DWP staff, and local authority officials are based in hotels and provide bespoke support to Afghan households, including information on how to rent in the private sector, find jobs and access English language training.</p><p> </p><p>The government is providing £285 million of new funding to local authorities supporting the Afghan resettlement schemes.
