answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/06/2023 answer text <p>Under the provisions of the Illegal Migration Bill, those who arrive illegally will be liable to detention and will be removed to their home country or to a safe third country. <br> <br> Under clause 21, a person subject to the clause 2 duty to make removal arrangements and who receives a positive Modern Slavery Reasonable Grounds decision will, subject to limited exceptions, be disqualified from the benefits of the National Referral Mechanism and arrangements for their removal will be made in line with the duty in clause 2 of the Bill</p><p><br> Clauses 21 to 24 are not blanket approaches, as individuals may be exempt from a public order disqualification in specific circumstances. Namely, the exemption applies where the Secretary of State satisfied that the person is cooperating with a public authority in connection with an investigation or criminal proceedings relating to the alleged exploitation, and the Secretary of State considers that it is necessary for the person to be present in the UK to provide that cooperation. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/04/2023 answer text <p>To strengthen the security of the UK border, the Government is introducing an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) scheme for those passengers visiting the UK or transiting through the UK who do not currently need a visa for short stays and do not have any other immigration status prior to travelling. This is similar in nature to the US ‘ESTA’ and the EU’s ETIAS which will also be shortly introduced.</p><p>As is currently the case, individuals arriving in the UK, including those crossing the land border into Northern Ireland, will need to continue to enter in line with the UK’s immigration framework, including the requirement to obtain an ETA when it is introduced. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/04/2023 answer text <p>An individual must, in most circumstances, provide their biometrics, in the form of a facial image and fingerprints, when applying for a visa or a biometric immigration document before they come to the UK. This is to ensure we can confirm their identity and fix them to it, and to conduct background security checks to establish whether they pose a threat to public safety.</p><p> </p><p>The Home Office contracts two commercial partners, VFS and TLS Contact, to operate its global network of Visa Application Centres (VACs) who provide application centres in over 230 locations across 138 countries. It is not economically viable for UKVI to have VACs in every city or country across the world and it may not be sustainable to open new locations where volumes are lower.</p><p> </p><p>Individuals who are unable to travel to a VAC should not normally make an application until they are able to do so.
