The situation is very complex and presents significant challenges, including how those who are eligible for resettlement in the UK can leave the country. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/03/2023 answer text <p>We have been working at pace, alongside c.350 local authorities across the UK, to support Afghan families into homes of their own, so that they can settle into their local communities, feel safe and independent and rebuild their lives in the UK.</p><p>The recent update to the published <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/afghan-resettlement-programme-operational-data/afghan-resettlement-programme-operational-data" target="_blank">'Afghan Resettlement: Operational Data'</a>, shows that, as of 23<sup>rd</sup> February 2023, 8,565 people have moved into a home, and a further 590 people have been matched to a home and are waiting to move in. The error was linked to the repeated capture of biometric information earlier in the process, but corrective action has now been taken.</p><p> </p><p>As part of transforming the asylum system, we are focused on streamlining, simplifying and digitalising processes to ensure system issues do not occur in the future.</p><p> </p><p>If a customer finds their Biometric Residence Permit has been delayed as a result of IT errors or for other reasons, they can make a complaint to the Home Office via <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/home-office/about/complaints-procedure" target="_blank">Complaints procedure - Home Office - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)</a>.
