answer text <p>The details of the funding agreement are confidential in order to maintain commercial sensitivity and preserve a safe space to negotiate bilateral agreements.</p><p>In terms of payments to Rwanda, as previously published we have provided Rwanda with an initial investment of £120 million into its economic and growth as part of the Economic Transformation and Integration Fund (ETIF). Investment has been focused in areas such as education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, and job creation.</p><p>In advance of flights taking place, a separate £20 million was also paid last year to support initial set up costs for the relocation of individuals. We will not enter into speculation as to what the final costs of the partnership may be nor provide a running commentary.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Everyone considered for relocation to Rwanda will be screened and have access to legal advice. Decisions will be taken on a case-by-case basis and nobody will be removed if it is unsafe for them.</p><p>We will thoroughly consider the circumstances of cases involving families with children according to our policy, statutory and international obligations. A full equality impact assessment has been published on gov.uk.</p><p>Individuals with family in the UK may still be relocated to Rwanda subject to a detailed consideration of their Article 8 rights under the European Convention on Human Rights.</p><p>For those with family links in the UK who want to be considered for entry to the UK, they should seek to do so via safe and legal routes.</p> more like this

answer text <p>On 29 June, the Court of Appeal handed down its judgment in the Judicial Review of the UK’s Migration and Economic Development Partnership with Rwanda.</p><p>No precise estimate has been made of the cost of appealing the Court of Appeal decision. The costs of taking this matter to the Supreme Court will be dependent on the complexity of the litigation and on the final outcome of the case which will determine each party’s liability for costs. An accurate estimate at this point is therefore not possible.</p><p>Our current asylum system is under extreme pressure and costing the country £3 billion a year and rising, including over £6 million a day on hotel accommodation. We cannot afford not to act.</p> more like this
