Member in the time available before Prorogation.</del></p><p><ins class="ministerial">Existing contractors based onsite carried out the work. There was no cost to the taxpayer.</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial"> </ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">Whilst the murals have been removed, other features at the facility include larger and softer interview rooms, an outside space, prayer rooms, a larger reception area and improved security measures to ensure the safety of those on site. The KIU is a bespoke building that was opened in 2022 designed to meet the needs of unaccompanied minors, with increased capacity allowing more children to be seen and their requirements identified as swiftly as possible.</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial"> </ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">It should be noted that very few under-13s pass through the Kent Intake Unit and these children are prioritised to be moved to Kent County Council care at the earliest opportunity. The overwhelming majority of unaccompanied children who passed through the location last year were largely teenagers. These include affordability-based waivers for entry clearance and leave to remain on family and human rights grounds. These provisions ensure that the Home Office’s immigration and nationality fee structure complies with international obligations and wider Government policy, and we believe represents the right balance between protecting the integrity of the department’s funding model while helping to facilitate access to immigration and nationality products and services, including for the most vulnerable.</p><p>The Home Office published an Equalities Impact Assessment alongside the Regulations that increased immigration and nationality fees in October 2023. As such, the UK is launching an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) scheme to further strengthen the security of our border.</p><p>The ETA scheme will close the current gap in advance permissions for non-visa national visitors to the UK and enhance the Government’s ability to screen such travellers and prevent the travel of those who pose a threat to the UK, making the UK safer.</p><p>Under the Carriers Liability scheme, carriers already have responsibilities to ensure their passengers are properly documented for travel to the UK and may be subject to charges if they allow them to travel without the correct documentation. Details of the scheme are published on gov.uk.</p><p>To assist carriers, the Home Office issues core guidance regarding the necessary check’s carriers are expected to undertake. The Home Office regularly train carriers and their handling agents in the UK and overseas, in documentary requirements and detection techniques. The Home Office publishes alerts to highlight any new trends or arising issues and provides a 24-hour carrier call service to advise carriers on specific documentation concerns.</p><p>Home Office teams overseas work closely with UK based colleagues who analyse travel data. Where high risk passengers are identified, teams engage with airlines to ensure that the individual is entitled to travel on the documentation held. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/10/2023 answer text <p>Our recent release of transparency data, published on 19 September 2023, following the end of hotels being used as bridging accommodation can be accessed at Afghan bridging hotel exit operational data - <a title="http://gov.uk/" href="http://GOV.UK" target="_blank">GOV.UK</a> (<a title="http://www.gov.uk/" href="http://www.gov.uk" target="_blank">www.gov.uk</a>)</p><p>The latest statistics (published on 24th August 2023) from the immigration system statistics quarterly release - <a title="http://gov.uk/" href="http://GOV.UK" target="_blank">GOV.UK</a> (<a title="http://www.gov.uk/" href="http://www.gov.uk" target="_blank">www.gov.uk</a>) provides a quarterly breakdown of the number of individuals resettled under both the Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme (ACRS) and Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP) in temporary accommodation up until the end of June 2023. For detailed data, see table Asy D02.</p><p>From the end of April 2023, resettled Afghan families staying in hotels and serviced apartments began to receive Notices to Quit their bridging accommodation. Residents received at least three months' notice to make arrangements to leave their hotel or serviced accommodation and were given clear guidance on the support they could access to help them find their own accommodation.</p><p>Despite all efforts, some families have been unable to find their own accommodation or unwilling to take up offers of housing and have needed to present as homeless. The statutory homelessness system provides a safety net, and no family will be left without a roof over their head.</p><p>We are unable to provide a running commentary on bridging accommodation occupation.
