answer text <p>Allocated funding and Infrastructure costs in the last 12 months were as follows:</p><p>Bahrain: funding allocated at the start of financial year (FY) 2018-19 for the UK Naval support facility was £10.55 million.</p><p>Oman: £4.115 million was allocated to Duqm at the start of FY 2018-19.</p><p>Diego Garcia: £3.04 million was allocated at the start of FY 2018-19.</p><p>Singapore: Due to rental payments received from the US, -£1.33 million was allocated to British Defence Singapore Support Unit at the start of FY 2018-19; however £1.845 million was spent on capital works and facilities maintenance.</p><p>It has not been possible to provide the information for Brunei in the time available, and I will write to the hon. Member once it has been collated.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The UK already has strong ties with allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region, reinforced by regular exercises and operations. We maintain the UK Garrison in Brunei and UK-managed military facilities in Singapore. The UK will continue to deepen bilateral and multilateral defence engagement in the region - for example, in recently re-establishing the resident Defence Adviser post in Sri Lanka and applying for Observer Status on two of the Association of Southeastern Asian Nations Defence Ministers' Meeting Plus Expert Working Groups.</p> more like this

answer text <p>This information is not held centrally by the Department and could be provided only at disproportionate cost.</p><p>It has previously been satisfactorily concluded that Lt Gen Sir Mark Mans, who would have been Adjutant General during these dates, had no dealings with Capita which would prevent him taking up an appointment with them. This appointment was approved by the office of the Advisory Committee on Business Appointments, with the approval letter published on Gov.uk.</p><p>It is also important to note that the award of a contract such as the Recruiting Partnering Project to Capita follows robust commercial competition, conducted over multiple years and in-line with a well-defined and assured evaluation process that would have been transparent to all those involved in the competition.</p> more like this

For officer applicants, Regiment and role is determined during officer cadet training. Applicants can however express preferences for their Regiment or role within their application. Since the announcement on 25 October 2018, 110 female soldier applicants and five female officer applicants have identified the infantry as one of their preferences.</p><p> </p><p>Less than five serving Regular female soldiers have applied to transfer into the infantry to date.</p><p> </p><p>By making all branches and trades of the military open to everyone, regardless of their gender, the Armed Forces is demonstrating its commitment to equality and diversity and seeking to maximise the talent of all personnel.</p><p> </p><p>Figures are single service estimates and have been rounded to the nearest five to limit disclosure and ensure confidentiality.</p><p> </p>
