These will present the results of economic modelling, giving an indication of the potential impacts on the UK and partner country’s economy.</p><p> </p><p>We have not undertaken any assessments of the EU’s proposed agreements with those countries as negotiations are still ongoing and it would therefore be premature to do so at this stage. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/07/2019 answer text <p>In the event of the UK leaving the EU with a negotiated agreement, the UK and EU have currently agreed that existing international agreements would apply as they do today for the duration of the implementation period.</p><p> </p><p>Nevertheless, we have been working with our trading partners to have bilateral agreements ready in place for when we need them, whether that is after an Implementation Period or for a potential No Deal.</p><p> </p><p>We are making progress and have signed or agreed in principle agreements with 32 countries. Total trade in 2018 between the UK and these countries accounted for 63% of the UK’s trade with all the countries with which the UK is seeking continuity in the event of a potential No Deal.<sup>1</sup> That has moved from 28% since March. A regularly updated list of agreements signed is available on GOV.UK. <a href="https://www.gov.uk/guidance/signed-uk-trade-agreements-transitioned-from-the-eu" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/guidance/signed-uk-trade-agreements-transitioned-from-the-eu</a></p><p> </p><p><sup>1</sup> The figures quoted above are based on total goods and services trade (imports and exports) with the UK, according to the most recent data (ONS, 2018).[1] They cover 65 countries that are party to 35 agreements. These are the countries covered by existing EU agreements in force in 2018. During negotiations for future free trade agreements we will publish and lay before Parliament a Round Report following each substantive round of negotiations. This Round Report will also be published online in an accessible format. We will also publish an Annual Trade Report covering progress across the full programme of negotiations. We announced our intention to work closely with a parliamentary committee to put in place measures to ensure effective parliamentary scrutiny throughout the process.</p><p> </p><p>Alongside our regular engagement with stakeholders, we have set up the Strategic Trade Advisory Group, which was recently announced. Another formal engagement mechanism we are setting up is Expert Trade Advisory Groups. Both of these mechanisms are designed to seek expert insight on strategic trade policy issues, including future trade agreements. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/03/2019 answer text <p>The best way to provide continuity and stability in our global trading relationships is to have a deal with the European Union so that the UK can remain covered by all existing trade agreements during the Implementation Period. After this we will seek to bring into force bilateral agreements that replicate the effects of existing agreements as far as possible.</p><p>Nevertheless, the Government is working to have bilateral agreements in place ready for when we need them, whether that is in the event of no deal, or after the proposed implementation period. The Government has signed trade continuity agreements with Chile, the Faroe Islands, the Eastern and Southern Africa (ESA) trade bloc, Switzerland, Israel, Palestinian Authority, Pacific states and CARIFORUM countries. We expect these to be in place by exit day, even in the event of a no deal. This list is kept up to date on Gov.uk (<a href="https://www.gov.uk/guidance/signed-uk-trade-agreements-transitioned-from-the-eu" target="_blank">LINK</a>) as we continue to sign trade continuity agreements. The Government has also initialled an agreement with EEA countries Iceland and Norway. This is expected to be signed shortly. We will keep our existing UK legislation, and the EU Withdrawal Act will convert EU law into UK law as it applies at the moment of exit.</p><p> </p><p>We are clear that more trade should not come at the expense of the high levels of protection we enjoy in the UK. The UK’s outstanding reputation for quality is what drives demand for UK goods and is key to our long-term prosperity.
