answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/09/2018 answer text <p>The Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 provides the police and local authorities with a range of flexible powers that they can use to tackle anti-social and nuisance behaviour.</p><p>This includes the Community Protection Notice which can be used by police, councils and designated housing providers to stop anti-social behaviour by individuals or businesses, that is having a detrimental effect on the community’s quality of life. A Community Protection Notice can include requirements to stop causing the nuisance and/ or to do specified things to ‘make good’. We’re committed to helping people find work through a wide-range of support targeted to each individual’s personal circumstances. We do want to find out more about the issue, which is why we have placed questions in the department’s 2018 surveys for pupils and senior school leaders.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>We support schools in addressing the needs of disadvantaged pupils through the provision of the Pupil Premium, equivalent to almost £2.5bn of additional funding this year alone. Schools have discretion over how they use their funding and can make sanitary products available, if they identify this as a barrier to attendance.</p><p> </p><p>Many homeless services, including hostels and day centres, will make sanitary products available for free to service users. Food banks represent an impressive response by civil society and faith groups to support vulnerable people. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/06/2018 answer text <p>The Prime Minister has been clear that she is committed to building a country that works for everyone, not just the privileged few – and this means helping ordinary working people with the cost of living.</p><p>The government is supporting those on low incomes through the introduction of the National Living Wage, increases in the Personal Allowance, freezes to fuel duty, and increasing childcare support for working families.</p><p>We are clear that no girl should be held back from reaching her potential because of her gender or background and we support schools in addressing the needs of disadvantaged pupils through the provision of the Pupil Premium funding, equivalent to almost £2.5bn of additional funding this year alone. Schools have discretion over how they use their funding and can make sanitary products available, if they identify this as a barrier to attendance.</p><p>In 2015, the Government announced a £15m annual Tampon Tax fund to support women’s charities, equivalent to the amount of VAT raised on sanitary products. In the most recent round of Tampon Tax Funding, we welcomed applications which addressed this issue and on 26th March, we announced that Brook Young People would receive a grant of £1.5million for their project in the UK, ‘Let’s Talk. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/06/2018 answer text <p>In March 2017, we established a cross-HMG Victims of Terrorism Unit (VTU) to co-ordinate support to UK citizens directly affected by terrorist events at home or overseas. Following the Manchester Arena attack, the unit was stood up for the first time to ensure that support to victims was comprehensive, coordinated and clearly communicated.</p><p>Within hours of the attack, we developed a gov.uk page to provide comprehensive advice to victims and to signpost them to those support services available from HMG, Police, voluntary sector organisations and local structures. We worked with Manchester City Council, the Manchester Local Resilience Forum, the Mayor’s Office and the Manchester Recovery Co-ordination and Humanitarian Assistance Group, offering HMG support and assistance. We wrote out to local authorities, GPs and schools setting out the support available to victims and those affected. We also changed regulations to ensure that payments from the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund did not affect means tested benefits and services.</p><p>The Government has also committed to providing funding of over £24m to Manchester, which includes millions of pounds to fund and support NHS physical and mental health services, and over £1m to the We Love Manchester Fund.</p><p>We continue to work across Government, including with third sector and private sector organisations, to improve and strengthen the support available so that victims receive the best possible support, now and in the future.</p> answering member constituency Louth and Horncastle answering member printed Victoria Atkins question first answered 18/06/2018 16:42:09 answering member 4399 label Biography information for Victoria Atkins
