The most recent statistics, for the year ending March 2017 were published in December 2017. Statistics relating to the year to March 2018 will be published later this year.</p><p>Thefts of stone are not recorded separately in the crime statistics published by the Office of National Statistics. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/07/2018 answer text <p>Home Office Ministers have met and will continue to meet a range of Ministers across Government to drive forward the Government’s commitment to transform the response to domestic abuse, working towards publication of a draft Domestic Abuse Bill and supporting non-legislative package.</p><p>On 8 March we launched a 12 week public consultation on proposals for the Bill including creating for the first time a statutory definition of domestic abuse, which will cover psychological, physical, sexual, emotional and economic abuse. The Government has already provided £265,000 to support organisations that raise awareness of economic abuse, and build the understanding and capability of financial organisations to respond, and the consultation asked what more could be done to support victims of economic abuse. The consultation closed on 31 May. Over 3,200 responses to the consultation were received. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/07/2018 answer text <p>Statistics on shoplifting offences reported to the police are recorded in the crime statistics published by the Office for National Statistics. The statistics can be accessed via their website at <a href="http://www.ons.gov.uk/" target="_blank">www.ons.gov.uk</a>.</p><p>We encourage all retailers to report shoplifting to the police whenever it occurs, so that these crimes can be investigated and, where appropriate, the offenders brought to justice. It must, however, remain a matter for chief constables and Police and Crime Commissioners, as operational leaders and elected local representatives, to decide how best to deploy resources to respond to these crimes, alongside other local priorities.</p><p>At the national level, the police, Police and Crime Commissioners, relevant government departments and the retail sector are all represented on the National Retail Crime Steering Group, which ensures a collaborative response to all the crimes that affect the retail sector.
