answer text <p>Budget 2014 cut the tax on a typical pint of beer by one penny. This will support pubs as the British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA) estimate nearly two thirds of the alcohol sold in pubs is beer. After the beer duty cut at Budget 2013, a BBPA survey suggested 76% of their members increased their investment and 61% employed more staff.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Some pubs have diversified away from beer and these pubs will benefit from the duty on ordinary cider and spirits being frozen this year, as well as from ending the wine duty escalator.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Beyond the powers in the Scotland Act 2012, the Government has no plans for further devolution of tax powers to Scotland until the referendum on Scottish independence has been settled</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Budget 2014 announced the reform of air passenger duty with the abolition of bands C and D from 1 April 2015. This will eliminate the two highest rates of air passenger duty charged on flights to countries over 4,000 miles from Britain, cutting tax for millions for passengers to travelling to China, India, Brazil and many other emerging markets. This will mean that flights to South Asia and the Caribbean will pay tax at the lower band B rate.</p> more like this

The contract was awarded following an open and competitive tender process and commenced on the 1<sup>st</sup> April 2014, and is subject to ongoing scrutiny based on defined service levels, transparency requirements and a clear risk strategy.</strong></p> more like this
