When the aim was announced, there were only 4 ultra-rapid chargepoints across MSAs in England. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/09/2023 answer text <p>The £381 million Local EV Infrastructure (LEVI) Fund, including both capital and resource funding, will support local authorities to provide tens of thousands of local chargepoints and transform the availability of charging for drivers without off-street parking.</p><p> </p><p>The LEVI Fund is allocated to Tier 1 local authorities (unitary, county council or combined authorities) in England on behalf of all their constituent authorities.</p><p> </p><p>Allocation of the capital funding is based on an assessment of need for EV charging. The assessment looked at the levels of residential off-street parking, progress of local authorities in developing their charging network to date, the rurality of a local authority and its level of deprivation. The strategy will set direction and outline the respective roles and responsibilities of both government and industry to ensure the delivery of the refuelling and recharging infrastructure required to meet the 2035 and 2040 end of sale dates for new non-zero emission HGVs. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/09/2023 answer text <p>The National Transport Model (NTM) is used by the Department for Transport to analyse possible future travel behaviour, and so to inform investment and policy decisions. Scenarios are a method used by analysts to understand uncertainty, taking different inputs and assumptions into the modelling.</p><p>One use of the NTM is to provide the projections for the Department’s regular publications, most recently the <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/national-road-traffic-projections" target="_blank">National Road Traffic Projections 2022</a>. The NTM was used to run a Core Scenario and seven Common Analytical Scenarios. These scenarios have been created to explore key drivers of uncertainty on transport demand, including the economy, decarbonisation, behaviour and technology. Full descriptors of these scenarios can be found in DfT’s <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/tag-uncertainty-toolkit" target="_blank">Uncertainty Toolkit</a> as well as in the National Road Traffic Projections report. The outputs of these runs are also in the report, as well as published data files on the same webpage.</p><p>Prior to the National Road Traffic Projections, the Department published the <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/road-traffic-forecasts-2018" target="_blank">Road Traffic Forecasts</a> in 2018. These included scenarios that have since been superseded by the Common Analytical Scenarios, but were an improvement on previous publications. These scenarios explored GDP, fuel price, migration, behaviour and decarbonisation of vehicles. The full descriptions of these scenarios, as well as the outputs from the modelling, are published in the report and associated data tables.</p><p>In addition to the Department’s regular publications, the NTM serves as an invaluable departmental analytical tool. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/06/2023 answer text <p>The Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) is the Government’s core tool for decarbonising liquid and gaseous fuels used in road transport and non-road mobile machinery.</p><p> </p><p>The Department is reviewing the impact of the Greenhouse Gas Obligation scheme, which ran from 2018 to 2020, in parallel to the RTFO, and extended to electricity used in road vehicles. The review will be published shortly.</p><p> </p><p>As electrification of the road vehicle fleet progresses, the Government continues to keep under review the most appropriate mechanisms for supporting the deployment of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
