answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/04/2017 answer text <p>The Government continues to work with the education sector, community organisations and operational partners to safeguard our young people from extremism and radicalisation.</p><p> </p><p>The Department for Education has issued practical guidance for schools and childcare providers to help them understand how to implement the Prevent duty, which requires them to have due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism. In September 2016, the Keeping Children Safe in Education statutory guidance was updated to cover online safety, including the requirement for schools and colleges to ensure appropriate monitoring systems are in place.</p><p> </p><p>We are also ensuring that schools are equipped to build children’s resilience against extremist ideology and prepare them for life in a modern, diverse Britain. Since 2011, more than 550,000 people, including teachers, have been trained to recognise the signs of radicalisation and to know what steps to take. New advice and resources continue to be uploaded to our <a href="http://educateagainsthate.com/" target="_blank">Educate Against Hate</a> website, which aims to help parents, teachers and school leaders protect young people from extremism and radicalisation.</p><p> </p><p>The Department has established the counter-extremism helpline; anyone who has concerns relating to extremism affecting young people or the education sector can contact the helpline.</p><p> </p><p>We have also worked with Ofsted to strengthen their inspection frameworks so that inspectors are required to assess how well schools protect pupils from the risks of extremism and radicalisation, and promote fundamental British values (democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs).</p><p> </p><p> </p> answering member constituency Gosport answering member printed Caroline Dinenage question first answered 27/04/2017 12:05:13 answering member 4008 label Biography information for Dame Caroline Dinenage

This includes £300 million per year from 2017-18 for a significant increase to the hourly rate paid to local authorities for delivering the government-funded entitlements, including 30 hours of childcare from September 2017.</p><p>We will require that all local authorities pass 93% in 2017-18 then 95% from 2018-19 of 30 hours childcare funding to providers.</p><p> </p><p>In addition to this, we are also investing £100 million of capital funding to create nearly 18,000 additional places for eligible children to help meet demand from working parents. To support them to deliver 30 hours, the Government is investing £100 million to create almost 18,000 additional early years places for eligible children to help meet demand from working parents. This is backed by £1 billion extra revenue per year for the early years entitlements, including £300 million per year to increase the funding rates paid to nurseries, pre-schools and childminders that choose to deliver the offer. This means that Brighton and Hove local authority will see an increase in their hourly funding rate to £4.45. We are currently awaiting the Court’s decision on whether to allow the appeal so we are unable to comment further on the case.</p><p>As you know, a General Election has been called. This means that a decision on this policy area will be for the next Government.</p><p>As we set out previously, the Government carried out a consultation on the future of civil partnerships in 2014. The review found that there was no clear consensus on the future of civil partnerships.
