I welcome the positive step that has been taken to ensure that all companies in Great Britain with more than 250 employees are required to report their gender pay gap to the Government Equalities Office.</p><p> </p><p>We know there is some work to do to narrow the gender pay gap across the sport sector. Sport England’s workforce strategy for England, “Working in an Active Nation”, highlights the commitment to achieving higher gender diversity in leadership roles on boards in sport. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/06/2019 answer text <p>In the Civil Society Strategy (‘the Strategy’) the government committed to work with civil society stakeholders and the Charity Commission to explore and agree on collective action to open up trusteeship to people from different backgrounds. Since the Strategy publication we have been holding exploratory conversations with stakeholders, including the National Council for Voluntary Organisations and the Charity Commission. These conversations are helping to improve understanding of the opportunities and challenges around enabling people from different backgrounds to become involved in trusteeship. There is no quick fix and the solutions will take time to develop and have impact. That is why in partnership with the FA and the Premier League we are investing more money than ever before, through the Football Foundation charity, to significantly improve the access and quality of community football facilities across the country. This year a combined £70million will go to this important area. To inform and direct future investment, new local football facility plans are being produced for every local authority in England. The plans will be in place by 2020 and will identify local priorities where investment in grassroots facilities is needed the most.</p><p> </p><p>Sport England also has a role in protecting sport pitches as a statutory consultee in the planning system. Sport England objects to all applications unless the developer can prove it will improve or safeguard sports provision. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/06/2019 answer text <p>Following the independent Dormant Assets Commission’s report and findings, an industry blueprint for expanding the scheme was published in April 2019, setting out a long-term plan for how additional dormant assets could be included.</p><p> </p><p>We are working proactively with industry partners to enable this expansion that could see hundreds of millions of additional funds being released to good causes. Under the current legislation, this money can only be used to fund initiatives relating to youth, financial inclusion or via a social investment wholesaler. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/06/2019 answer text <p>The Government recognises the wide-ranging benefits that hosting major sports events can bring.</p><p>My Department works closely with UK Sport and the national governing bodies of sport, as well as local, regional and devolved partners, to ensure that the UK successfully bids for and stages a wide range of the world’s biggest sporting events.<strong><br></strong></p><p> </p><p>The 'Gold Framework' publication sets out the processes as to how the Government and UK Sport work together with our sports bodies in bidding and staging major sports events. Our approach has been successful, with over 100 major international sporting events secured for the UK since the London 2012 Games.</p><p> </p><p>We have a strong programme of events to look forward to, including the Cricket World Cup, Netball World Cup and Cycling Road World Championships this year, the EURO 2020 men's Championships next year, and the EURO women's Championships and Rugby League World Cup in 2021.</p><p> </p><p>We are also looking forward to hosting the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, welcoming thousands of athletes and officials from around the world and showcasing the best that the UK has to offer to a global audience of 1.5 billion.</p><p> </p> answering member constituency Eastleigh answering member printed Mims Davies question first answered 06/06/2019 09:26:35 answering member 4513 label Biography information for Mims Davies
