answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/02/2019 answer text <p>Electricity consumed in England and Wales may have been generated in other parts of the UK or imported from Europe via interconnector. At a sub-national level, BEIS cannot separately identify the original fuel for electricity consumed; however, in terms of electricity generated:</p><p> </p><p>(a) In 2017, 29.3 per cent of electricity generated in the UK came from renewable sources. 26.0 per cent of electricity generated in England and Wales came from renewable sources, this was a record.</p><p>(b) Almost a third of electricity generated in 2018 quarter 3 came from renewable sources, the highest figure on record. Full figures for 2018 are not yet available. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/11/2018 answer text <p>We estimate that around 1.2m homes will be treated under the current Energy Company Obligation between autumn 2018 and March 2022 on the basis of the lifetime bill saving targets that obligated energy suppliers have been set. This is set out on page 27 of the final impact assessment which can be found at: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/energy-company-obligation-eco3-2018-to-2022?6543" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/energy-company-obligation-eco3-2018-to-2022?6543</a>. Being a statutory obligation on energy suppliers to meet their targets, we have a high degree of confidence that the lifetime bill savings delivered through installing measures into homes will be met in full. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/11/2018 answer text <p>Ministers and officials from the Department meet representatives from the oil industry to discuss the United Kingdom downstream oil sector on a regular basis.</p><p> </p><p>The Government believes that it is essential that consumers get a fair deal and that a competitive market is the best way to keep prices low. Fuel pricing is subject to UK competition law under the Competition and Markets Authority. Its predecessor, the Office of Fair Trading last looked at fuel prices in 2013.
