As with all cases that fail this first limb of the Code, it was therefore not in the public interest to continue with the investigation. Cases with serious safeguarding implications continue to be prioritised for listing by the independent judiciary.</p><p>Adjournments are not specifically covered in the Criminal Court Statistics.
