answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/06/2016 answer text <p>The UK supports the Saudi Arabian-led Coalition military intervention in Yemen, which came at the request of legitimate President Hadi to deter aggression by the Houthis and forces loyal to the former president Saleh. Saudi Arabia and the Coalition have played a crucial role in this endeavour. Peace talks are now the top priority. During the Foreign Secretary’s visit to the Gulf in late May and early June, all countries reassured of their commitment to finding a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Yemen. The UK is working closely with the UN to encourage the Yemeni parties to engage in good faith in the peace talks in Kuwait and respect the ceasefire which started on 10 April. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/01/2016 answer text <p>As I made clear on 6 January during a Westminster Hall debate, the UK remains concerned about the detention of Palestinian children in Israeli prisons.</p><p>In 2012, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) funded an independent report on Children in Military Custody by leading British lawyers. FCO Ministers and the British Ambassador in Tel Aviv have spoken and written to both the Israeli Justice Minister and the Israeli Attorney General to urge that Israel addresses the report's recommendations. On 23 November 2015, officials from our Embassy in Tel Aviv again raised our concerns about the treatment of Palestinian minors in Israeli military detention with the Israeli Chief Military Prosecutor.</p><p>We welcome recent improvements made by the Israeli authorities, including increasing the age of majority from 16 to 18 years old. However, we remain concerned at the number of Palestinian minors held in Israeli detention. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/12/2015 answer text <p>During his visit to Saudi Arabia on 28 October, the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my right hon. Friend the Member for Runnymede and Weybridge (Mr Hammond) made clear the need for all sides to take all reasonable steps to facilitate access for humanitarian aid, and the importance of the non-politicisation of aid, as well as the need to facilitate access for commercial goods. We welcome the commitments of the Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister and Yemeni President Hadi in recent weeks that all of Yemen’s ports are open and that commercial ships, including fuel tankers, are now arriving in Yemeni ports, including Hodeidah. We are using diplomatic channels to urge the Saudi and Yemeni Governments to ensure commercial access is sustained. The Foreign Secretary and the Secretary of State for International Development, my right hon. We regularly urge the Israeli Government to intensify measures to support Gaza’s reconstruction and economic development. On 10 September, during Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s visit to the UK the Prime Minister, my right hon. Friend the Member for Witney (David Cameron), and the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my hon. The Pakistan Government can be under no doubt as to the importance we place on addressing these issues. The Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my right hon. Friend the Member for Runnymede and Weybridge (Mr Hammond), discussed our concerns at the misuse of the blasphemy laws in Pakistan with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in November 2014, as did the Prime Minister, my right hon. Friend the Member for Witney (Mr Cameron) in December. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/03/2015 answer text <p>In the run-up to Bahrain’s elections in November 2014, the British Embassy in Bahrain held regular discussions with the government of Bahrain and Bahraini political groups to discuss progress on political dialogue and encourage broad participation and engagement in the electoral process.</p><p>Following the elections, I discussed democratic participation in Bahrain with the Undersecretary of the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the UK-Bahrain Joint Working Group in December. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/03/2015 answer text The UK regularly discusses issues of reform with the government of Bahrain. In January, My Rt Hon and noble Friend, the Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Baroness Anelay met the Bahraini justice minister and discussed the importance of holding police officers accused of mistreatment to account. Our Ambassador to Bahrain has raised our concerns over allegations of torture and mistreatment with Bahraini ministers. In addition to voicing these concerns, the UK is providing practical assistance to the Government of Bahrain to prevent the use of torture and to address allegations of its use. In particular, the UK is providing support to the Ministry of Interior’s Ombudsman and the Special Investigations Unit, both of whom have responsibility for investigating allegations against security personnel.
