answer text <p>The UK fully supported a UN resolution tabled in the Security Council by the US in response to the Secretary General's report. This draft resolution called for an arms embargo and targeted sanctions against those responsible for the continued violence. We lobbied hard, both in New York and in the appropriate capitals, but disappointingly the resolution was not adopted. We continue to work closely with the region and the wider international community to mitigate the risks identified in the Secretary General's report.</p> more like this
