The Cadet Forces are not part of the Armed Forces and have no operational role. Numbers of Cadets and Adult Volunteers in the Cadet Forces sponsored by the Ministry of Defence are published annually as a national statistic. The latest statistics, providing figures as at 1 April 2017, can be found at the following address: https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/mod-sponsored-cadet-forces-statistics-2017.
