answer text
The UK government is aware of reports regarding the death of Farhang Amiri in Yazd. The UK notes the worrying trend of harassment of religious minorities in Iran (including of the Baha'i community) and strongly condemns any violence towards and mistreatment of minority groups in the country. We have not specifically raised the case of the death of Farhang Amiri, but we regularly raise our concerns about the treatment of religious minorities in Iran both in London and Tehran. We call on Iran to cease harassment of all religious minorities and to fulfil its international and domestic obligations to allow freedom of religion to all Iranians.
more like this

Most recently, The Prime Minister, my Rt Hon. Friend the Member for Maidenhead (Mrs May) raised Mrs Nobakht's case with Iranian President Rouhani in person on 20 September, and followed up by letter on 3 October. The Foreign Secretary, my Rt Hon. Friend the Member for Uxbridge and South Ruislip (Mr Johnson), raised Mrs Nobakht's case with Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif on 22 September. answer text
The High Negotiations Committee (HNC) brings together the broadest range of Syrian opposition groups so far, including representatives of armed groups on the ground, with the purpose of negotiating a peaceful transition in Syria. In September the HNC set out a detailed vision for this political transition, to end the conflict. We welcomed the moderate, inclusive and pragmatic nature of this initiative and consider it a valuable contribution to the political process. The HNC includes a wide range of groupings of different political perspectives as well as regional, ethnic and confessional backgrounds. Their coming together to set out a shared vision for transition was a significant moment.

Since September the opposition has come under further pressure in Syria, not least because of the brutal offensive by the regime and its backers against east Aleppo, where up to 275,000 people have been cut off from all aid supplies for four months, and against other besieged areas. The UK continues to believe that the only long-term resolution to the Syrian conflict is a sustainable political settlement based on transition away from the rule of Bashar al-Asad. The moderate opposition have shown that they are ready and prepared to discuss this. The regime and its backers must now end their destructive military approach and return to the negotiating table.

answer text
We have not had discussions on this specific ruling, but the Government has been clear we are deeply concerned by the trend of retroactive "legalisation" of outposts. Moves to retroactively approve unauthorised settlement outposts call into question the commitment of the Israeli government to the two-state solution.

We continue to raise our grave concerns about Israeli settlements with the Israeli government. On 16 November 2016, I issued a statement expressing concern about The Land Regulation Bill to 'legalise' settlement outposts in the West Bank. On 5 October 2016, I issued a public statement condemning the announcement of plans to construct a new settlement near Shilo. The Foreign Secretary, my Rt Hon. Friend the Member for Uxbridge and South Ruislip (Mr Johnson) raised our concern over new settlements with Prime Minister Netanyahu when he met him in Jerusalem on 30 September. Our Embassy in Tel Aviv have also regularly raised our concerns with the Israeli authorities on the continued expansion of settlements and the retroactive "legalisation" of outposts in the West Bank.
