<p>The Department's Defence People Health and Wellbeing Strategy (DPHWS) (2016-2021),
which focuses on Lifestyles, Injury Prevention, Preventative Health and Mental Health,
aims to ensure that all Defence people enjoy a state of positive physical and mental
health and wellbeing, feeling connected with, and supported by, the military and wider
community.</p><p>Additionally, the Defence People Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy
(DPMHWS), launched in July 2017, identified the need for strong partnerships with
the Department of Health, the National Health Service (NHS) in England and the Devolved
Administrations as well as the charitable sector, and for a new operating model focusing
on Promote, Prevent, Treat and Detect. It will be taken forward by the forthcoming
Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy Action Plan.</p>
