answer text <p>The Department for Transport intends to set out the outcomes we want from the rail network in Control Period 6 (CP6 – 2019 to 2024) during the remainder of 2017, following on from the High Level Output Specification (HLOS) that was published in July.</p><p> </p><p>The work of the Peninsula Rail Task Force, which includes aspirations for line speed increases between Exeter and Plymouth, continues to be a valuable part of the process for defining our priorities for investment after 2019.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Department for Transport welcomes the Peninsula Rail Task Force report and the contribution it makes to the consideration of longer term improvements to the rail network in the South West.</p><p> </p><p>We are investing more than £400 million in the network in the South West, including an extra £10 million for the line from Exeter to Newton Abbot via Dawlish that we announced in November 2016. We will continue to work with Network Rail and the Task Force to explore the potential for longer-term improvements in 2019 and beyond.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>We are investing more than £400 million in the network in the South West, including continuing funding to deal with resilience near the Dawlish sea wall and the Dawlish cliffs.
