Support for pensioners is a transferred matter in Northern Ireland and the responsibility of the Department for Communities. However, in the absence of a fully functioning Northern Ireland Assembly, the UK Government has taken decisive action to ensure that the means tested and disability Cost of Living payments are made to households in Northern Ireland on exactly the same terms as the rest of the UK.
