answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/03/2015 answer text <p>We want to make sure that grieving families receive the highest level of service when they are most in need, which is why we are determined that inquests are conducted quickly and consistently right across the country.</p><p> </p><p>It is important that coroners are flexible and accessible in the service they provide. The Government will do everything it can to encourage all coroners to make an out of hours service available and also to direct a less-invasive post-mortem where this is suitable and desired by the family.</p><p> </p><p>The Chief Coroner and I recently met senior figures from London local authorities and from the Metropolitan and City of London Police. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/03/2015 answer text <p /> <p>In July 2014 the Executive Team of the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) was restructured and reduced from the Commissioner plus four Directors to the Commissioner plus three Directors. As a part of the restructure, the Remuneration Committee of the ICO’s non-executive Management Board reviewed the salaries of the remaining Directors and made recommendations to the Commissioner based on the changes to individual Director’s responsibilities that resulted from the restructure. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/03/2015 answer text <p /> <p>The information requested in relation to both the magistrates’ courts and Crown Court is not held centrally and could only be provided by accessing and examining individual files at a disproportionate cost.</p><p> </p><p>Computerised data is available on the number of adult trials which did not proceed because a prosecution witness did not attend. I regret that it will not now be possible to bring forward the Code of Practice during this parliamentary session as we had previously intended.</p><p> </p><p>However, we do recognise the challenge which the outsourcing of public services poses for transparency. It is our wish that public authorities and their contractors should interpret their FOI obligations broadly, in a way which applies as high a level of transparency as possible, and takes due regard of the principles for public authorities required by the FOI Act. It is right that the family court has the power to take swift action to protect families and children from domestic abuse. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/02/2015 answer text <p /> <p>Information on the average number of days taken by coroners to release the body of a homicide victim is not held centrally. This information could only be obtained by inspection of individual case files at each coroner’s office before collating the information, and this could only be done at disproportionate cost.</p><p> </p><p>In July 2013 we implemented reforms in the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 together with new coroner regulations and rules aimed at improving standards and achieving greater consistency in coroner services. Regulation 20 of the Coroners (Investigations) Regulations 2013 requires a coroner to release the body for burial or cremation as soon as is reasonably practicable.
