The ACRS will provide up to 20,000 women, children and others at risk with a safe and legal route to resettle in the UK.</p><p>This follows the immediate evacuation of over 15,000 people to safety in the largest and fastest emergency evacuation in recent history. We have continued to bring people to the UK, with around 1,500 people helped to enter since the evacuation.</p><p>Some of the people evacuated under Op Pitting will be eligible for the ACRS.</p><p>Details of how the ACRS will operate including the referral pathways for those outside and inside Afghanistan are set in the oral statement of 6 January. Given the complex and changing nature of the circumstances in Afghanistan and the region, it is not possible to give estimates of the numbers of people who will be resettled from outside or inside Afghanistan.</p><p>Those people in the UK following the evacuation who will be eligible for the ACRS, are being contacted to assist them in obtaining Indefinite Leave to Remain under the ACRS. People eligible for resettlement under pathways two and three of the ACRS will be contacted at the appropriate time.</p><p>We are working closely with UNHCR with the ambition of receiving referrals as part of the second pathway for vulnerable refugees in need of protection in year 1 of the ACRS. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/02/2022 answer text <p>The Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme (ACRS) will prioritise those who have assisted UK efforts in Afghanistan and stood up for UK values such as democracy, women’s rights, freedom of speech and rule of law; and vulnerable people such as women and girls at risk, and members of minority groups (including ethnic / religious minorities and LGBT+).</p><p>Representations from Members of Parliament have raised the plight of a great number of people from Afghanistan who would wish to relocate to the UK.</p><p>These representations have helped to inform the design of the ACRS as a scheme that will help those in need who are particularly vulnerable, including women and children at risk, and minority groups; as well as those who have supported the UK mission in Afghanistan.</p><p>All referrals onto the ACRS will be through the three pathways set out in the statement to Parliament of 6 January, which is a fair and equitable way to identify those most in need.</p><p>As an additional verification step, we shall check names of eligible British Council and GardaWorld contractors and Chevening alumni against the names of people referred to us by MPs during the evacuation.</p><p>Further detail on the three referral pathways can be found at <a href="https://www.gov.uk/guidance/afghan-citizens-resettlement-scheme" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/guidance/afghan-citizens-resettlement-scheme</a>.</p> answering member constituency Louth and Horncastle answering member printed Victoria Atkins question first answered 23/02/2022 13:30:48 answering member 4399 label Biography information for Victoria Atkins

Its application also brings new challenges.</p><p>The Home Office has policies and procedures in place to ensure impacts are thoroughly considered on a case-by-case basis, undertaking its statutory duties including Equality Impact Assessments, Data Protection Impact Assessments, plus the Analytical Quality Assurance process. All police forces routinely collect and publish data on offences. However, published data relates to recorded offences rather than the characteristics of the victims who have experienced them. This is so that the published data reflects all recorded offences, including those where there is no specific, intended, or identifiable victim, or where there are multiple offences against one victim.</p><p>The Government remains determined to build on our understanding of the nature of child sexual abuse, including the ethnicity and background of victims. To inform our understanding of the number of victims and their ages, we use data gathered through the Crime Survey for England and Wales (ONS). We also draw on the research and insight produced by the Centre of Expertise on Child Sexual Abuse, which we established in 2017, and why we draw on the insight of other experts including the Independent Inquiry on Child Sexual Abuse, which has produced research on ethnic minority victims of CSEA.</p><p>We also work closely with local areas to improve their response to exploitation, enabling them to spot trends in abuse and protect local communities. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/03/2021 answer text <p><del class="ministerial">The Home Office is currently considering a response to this question and will respond shortly.</del></p><p> </p><p><ins class="ministerial">The Government recognises the devastating impact of county lines activity on children and vulnerable people.</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">We are determined to disrupt these ruthless gangs and put an end to exploitation. In January we announced £40 million of new money to tackle county lines and drugs supply in the financial year 2021/22. This will bring the total invested in tackling this threat to £65 million since November 2019.</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">Through our £25m county lines programme we have already seen 3,400 people arrested, more than 550 lines closed and more than 770 vulnerable people safeguarded. </ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">We are also investing £105.5m into 18 Violence Reduction Units (VRUs) until March 2022 to tackle the root causes of serious violence via a whole system approach which can include activity to prevent and support victims of county lines.</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">Thames Valley VRU, backed by £3.48m investment to develop and sustain their VRU in reducing serious violence, are also targeting and supporting victims of county lines. For example, Thames Valley have established an enhanced information sharing network, which shares information on young people that might be at risk of county lines with specialist departments.
