answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/04/2019 answer text <p>The Government does not have plans for a scrappage scheme to encourage replacement of older farm machinery.</p><p> </p><p>However, the Countryside Productivity Scheme has recently offered grant funding for projects in England which improve productivity in the farming and forestry sectors. An apprentice can be a new recruit or current employee aged 16 or over. There is a power in Part 3 of Schedule 1 that will enable the Government to add sectors to that schedule via secondary legislation. The list of sectors and the regulation-making power (including the power to add sectors to the list) are reproduced for Northern Ireland at paragraphs 15 and 16 of Schedule 4 of the Bill.</p><p> </p><p>In England, the power to add sectors will be exercised if, following public consultation with interested stakeholders, a decision is made to introduce a new marketing standard. As agricultural policy in the UK is devolved, it is for each administration to decide its approach and what measures it should adopt. All eligible annual revenue claims for 2015 to 2017 have received a payment, with the exception of those held for legal reasons such as probate. Payments for 2018 are underway. There is no regulatory deadline for Countryside Stewardship 2018 revenue payments; we advise most claimants to expect a payment within 12 months. 95% of claims will receive an advance payment by April 2019. The Countryside Stewardship application window normally runs between February and May for High Tier and between February and July for Mid-Tier. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/04/2019 answer text <p>This is a devolved matter and the below information relates to England only.</p><p> </p><p>There is already in place a systematic approach for the safe management of agricultural animal waste. Slurry and manure produced by farm animals and the associated controls are managed through zone designations and compliance regulations. The specific approach depends upon whether a farm falls within a Nitrate Vulnerable Zone (NVZ), which cover 55% of England, or outside an NVZ, in which case pollution control regulation applies.</p><p> </p><p>Under NVZ rules operators are required to store their manures and slurries for up to 5 or 6 months depending on farm type, keep records and only spread manures and slurries at certain times of the year, whilst keeping the application rates within nutrient limits. Under current pollution control regulation, stores must be constructed to a required standard, meet necessary construction requirements and have a minimum capacity of 4 months’ storage.
