answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/10/2016 answer text <p>The UK Government's links with the Central American region are strong and were enhanced in 2012 following the then Government's decision to reopen our Embassy in El Salvador. We have Embassies located in five of the seven Central American countries - Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala and Panama. We also have Honorary Counsuls in Nicaragua and Honduras.</p><p>Our Ambassadors to Guatemala and Costa Rica are non-resident Ambassadors to Honduras and Nicaragua respectively. They and their staff in Guatemala City and San José visit Honduras and Nicaragua regularly and engage across the full range of our interests in the region. We are deeply concerned about the treatment of Crimean Tatars who face regular harassment including arrests, detentions, disappearances, threats to seize property, and restrictions on their rights of worship, assembly and expression, including a ban on the Mejlis council. We are aware of reports that 18 Crimean Tatars are currently held in Russian-run prisons and several more are under arrest for opposing the illegal annexation of Crimea. International human rights organisations such as the UN and the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe are barred from entering Crimea. This includes working closely with the Colombian mission to the UN and other partners in the UN Security Council, where the UK secured unanimous support for two Resolutions on the peace process</p><p><br>We have previously provided diplomatic, financial and technical assistance to peace-building, including advice from our experience in Northern Ireland and elsewhere. Since 2015, we have spent almost £10m through our Conflict, Stabilisation and Security Fund supporting post-conflict planning, security transition and justice reform. This includes £4.2m to the UN Post-Conflict Trust Fund, as well as supporting the Organisation of American States monitoring mission on independent monitoring of conflict areas.</p><p>The Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my Rt Hon. Friend the Member for Uxbridge and South Ruislip (Mr Johnson) congratulated President Santos following the award of the Nobel Peace Prize recognising the President's efforts to achieve peace for all Colombians. We continue to take action against their terrorist activity domestically and to encourage international partners to do the same. The UK and Turkey continue to work closely together to address terrorism in all its forms, on a bilateral basis and through international forums such as the Global Counter - Terrorism Forum, and the international Coalition Against Daesh. During this period the Government will continue to negotiate, implement and apply EU legislation. The Foreign and Commonwealth Ofiice currently has one directive yet to be transposed directly into law: Council Directive (EU) 2015/637 on the coordination and cooperation measures to facilitate consular protection for unrepresented citizens of the Union in third countries and repealing Decision 95/533/EC. The Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my Hon. Friend the Member for Bournemouth East (Mr Ellwood) discussed human rights concerns with Ministerial counterparts during his visit to Tashkent in April. Uzbekistan features as a Human Rights Priority Country in the FCO's Annual Human Rights Report. We also encourage further progress towards full implementation of Uzbekistan's international human rights commitments and obligations, both bilaterally and with our international partners.</p><p>Concerns about freedom of religion or belief were raised in the last EU-Uzbekistan human rights dialogue which took place in November 2015, at the EU-Uzbekistan Co-operation Council in May 2015, and EU-Uzbekistan Co-operation Committee in December 2015.
