answer text <p>The Secretary of State’s written ministerial statement to Parliament of 19 October set out that, while we intend to consult on the best starting point to measure the progress that children make at primary school, no new types of statutory assessment will be introduced in primary schools prior to the 2018-2019 academic year. We have also confirmed that the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile will remain in place for the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 academic years.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Our intention to work with awarding organisations to develop a process for reforming Level 1 and 2 qualifications for inclusion in performance tables from 2018 was announced on 24 July. In considering which qualifications to offer, schools will need to take account of resources and costs and the impact this will have on school budgets. It is not possible to estimate the cost in advance of any decisions being made on Level 1 and 2 qualifications being included in performance tables.</p> more like this
