answer text <p>The Government believes forfeiture is a draconian measure and should only be used as a last resort. We are reviewing the use of forfeiture and as a first step, have asked the Law Commission to update their 2006 report, <em>Termination of Tenancies for Tenant Default, </em> given the passage of time, and to take into account the implications of leasehold reforms currently underway.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Vandalism and the desecration of cemeteries are criminal offences and we are confident that these offences will be dealt with appropriately by the police, local services, and criminal justice system. Where these criminal offences are aggravated by hostility towards particular religious communities these will be investigated as hate crimes.</p><p>The Government provides funding support to specialist third party organisations the Community Security Trust and Tell Mama, both of which report hate crimes to the police, spread awareness about hate crimes, and provide victim support.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Vandalism and the desecration of cemeteries are unacceptable criminal offences and we expect police forces to take any reports seriously. In cases where these are aggravated by hostility towards particular religious communities they will be investigated as hate crimes and may attract a sentence uplift if prosecuted.</p><p>We work closely with stakeholders including the Community Security Trust and Tell MAMA who support religious communities to increase reporting and respond effectively to hate crime.</p> more like this

answer text <p>On 11 November 2014 in response to a Question UIN HL2504 from Lord Avebury, Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon provided a summary of progress on the 28 commitments made by the Ministerial Working Group on tackling inequalities experienced by Gypsies and Travellers.</p><p>The Government is concerned about the inequalities experienced by Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities and maintains close contact with representative groups. Ministers in the Ministry of Housing, Communities &amp; Local Government, the Department for Education and the Department of Health and Social Care are committed to working together to tackle the poor life chances of these groups, and will be running a series of projects to improve outcomes for Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities in the areas of educational attainment, health and social integration through a fund which will concentrate on localised approaches that have been proved to deliver positive results. We intend to announce successful projects before April.</p>
