answer text <p>The UK Government is working with several potential vaccine suppliers with the ambition to roll out an immunisation programme on a UK-wide basis as soon as regulatory approval is granted. We have secured early access to over 350 million vaccine doses through a portfolio of promising new vaccines to ensure we are in the best place, and we are taking every possible step to ensure we can move as quickly as possible to deploy a vaccine if and when one is found to work.</p><p> </p><p>We have invested over £140m into manufacturing any successful vaccine and an enormous amount of planning and preparation has taken place across Government to be able to quickly roll out the vaccine, including ensuring we have adequate provision, transport, PPE and logistical expertise to do so.</p><p> </p><p>Once any vaccine is approved, the Government will distribute these equitably amongst the four nations, for the Devolved Administrations to then administer roll out to the public.</p><p> </p><p>The UK Government has been in constant communication with the NI Executive over the progress on the acquisition, and potential approval, of any vaccine to assist in planning and preparation for their roll out. The UK Government stands ready to assist the Devolved Administrations concerning a vaccine roll out.</p><p><br></p>

answer text <p>The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland and I are working closely with the First Minister, deputy First Minister and the rest of the Executive on the response to Covid-19.</p><p> </p><p>As my honourable Friend will be aware, health is a devolved matter. In May, the Department of Health published the Covid-19 Test, Trace and Protect Strategy, which is led by the Public Health Agency.</p><p> </p><p>Testing has always been a critical part of the UK’s response. The Testing Strategy in Northern Ireland is aligned with the UK strategic approach, and through working with a number of key stakeholders and delivery partners across the Health and Social Care Sector, local universities and industry, testing capacity has increased significantly.</p><p> </p><p>As with any diagnostic test there is always the small possibility of a false negative or a false positive result. All tests have been assessed as performing to manufacturers’ specifications before being used.</p><p><br></p> more like this

answer text <p>The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland is in regular contact with the First and Deputy First Minister for Northern Ireland.</p><p> </p><p>The Government and devolved administrations continue to work closely together to ensure a coordinated approach across the United Kingdom, such as the four nations approach to PPE and the National Testing Initiative.</p><p> </p><p>Each devolved nation has its own unique set of circumstances and it is only right that devolved nations take the approach that is right for them at the right time.</p><p> </p> more like this
