answer text <p>Home Office officials routinely discuss electrical safety issues with the NFCC to ensure opportunities to drive down electrical fires and promote electrical safety are utilised.</p><p><br>The Department has facilitated close links between the National Fire Chiefs Council, product safety officials at the Department for Business and the sector-led Register My Appliance initiative to encourage fire and rescue services to increase the focus on electrical and product safety within their engagement with members of the public.</p><p><br>The Home Office’s national fire safety campaign, run in partnership with the NFCC, collaborates with Electrical Safety First to run the annual Electrical Fire Safety Week. The Week is used by fire and rescue services and others to promote electrical fire safety messages.</p> more like this

On 15 January I chaired the first meeting of the Vehicle Theft Taskforce, which brings together the automotive industry, insurers, the police, Government departments and others to help ensure that the collective response to vehicle theft in England and Wales is as robust as it can be. answer text <p>The Home Office publishes the number of female firearm certificate holders as part of the ‘Firearm and Shotgun Certificates in England and Wales Statistics - Financial Year 2017/18’ publication.</p><p>The data can be found in Table E2 here: https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/firearm-and-shotgun-certificates-in-england-and-wales-financial-year-ending-31-march-2018</p><p>These statistics are experimental statistics and should be treated with caution as they are still being developed and have not been subjected to the same levels of quality assurance as the other figures in the publication.</p><p>Data as at 31 March 2019, will be reported in the ‘Firearm and Shotgun Certificates in England and Wales Statistics - Financial Year 2018/19’ publication. answer text <p>The Government recognises the particularly invasive nature of burglary and the impact that it can have on people’s lives. This is why we encourage all victims to report these crimes to the police, and we expect the police to take all such reports seriously, to investigate and, where appropriate, bring offenders to court so that they can receive appropriate punishment.</p><p>It is, however, for Chief Constables and Police and Crime Commissioners, as operational leaders and elected local representatives, to decide how best to deploy resources to manage and respond to individual crimes and local crime priorities.</p><p>The police have the resources they need to carry out their vital work. We have provided a strong and comprehensive funding settlement that is increasing total investment in the police by over £460 million in 2018/19.</p> more like this

The great majority were from people concerned about the use of air weapons to harm animals such as cats, and were in favour of the increased regulation of air weapons. answer text <p>The Government is concerned about the harms caused by crimes enabled by the theft of an identity and is taking a number of steps to counter identity-based crimes:</p><ul><li>Action Fraud, the Government-supported fraud reporting centre, provides advice for individuals and businesses on steps they can take to protect themselves from identity crime;</li><li>Action Fraud is also engaged in a number of public campaigns to raise awareness of the risk of identity theft across the public and private sectors to both individuals and businesses;</li><li>The Government is using the Joint Fraud Taskforce to bring banks and law enforcement together to work collectively to protect the public and businesses from fraud;</li><li>And the Government is also committed to extending the Verify platform so that people have one single, common and safe way of verifying themselves online to all parts of government by 2020 and making it more widely available, so that people can safely verify their identity to access non-government services such as banking.</li></ul>
