answer text <p>Fraud and error is currently estimated to be 2.1% of benefit expenditure, down from 2.2% in 2009/10.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>My Department is working hard to reduce Fraud and Error. answer text <p>Improving Access to Psychological Therapy Services (IAPT) are open access services treating people with depression and anxiety disorders in primary care. People on incapacity benefits who have depression or an anxiety disorder can access these services via either their GP or self-referral.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>In England individuals who are referred are guaranteed an assessment to see if they could benefit from an IAPT treatment. It would be the patient’s decision as to whether they took up that offer or not. If the patient is not suitable for treatment they will be signposted to a mental health service or other service that is better able to meet their needs.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Mental health services exist in Wales and Scotland but are a devolved matter and responsibility of the Scottish or Welsh Governments.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>In addition, Access to Work can also offer help to people with mental health conditions such as with communication support at job interviews, disability awareness training for colleagues when a person starts work and Access to Work’s Mental Health Support Service can offer support to individuals with a mental health condition who are absent from work or finding work difficult.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>

answer text <p /> <p>We are committed to helping those with mental health conditions to stay in or get back to work and ensuring we offer the best possible support. This is why, with the Department of Health, we are piloting the most promising and evidence-based approaches to supporting individuals with mental health conditions recommended in the expert report <em>Psychological Wellbeing and Work: Improving Service Provision and Outcomes</em>.</p><p> </p><p>These pilots will contribute to a better evidence base and will inform our thinking about next steps not only for government, but for all who have a role to play including employers, commissioners, service providers and individuals.</p><p> </p><p>The Disability Confident Campaign is working alongside others, including Mind, on events to raise awareness of Access to Work’s Mental Health Support Service. Last year over 1,400 people who had a mental health condition as their primary condition were supported by Access to Work – an almost threefold increase in the volumes supported compared to 2010/11.</p><p> </p>
