answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/10/2017 answer text <p>The Government is committed to supporting the construction sector to increase the gender and ethnic diversity of its workforce, to ensure there are opportunities for all who wish to pursue construction careers, regardless of their background. The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) has developed a ‘Be Fair’ framework, which includes freely available fairness and inclusion training modules for construction firms.</p><p>In addition, CITB’s careers hub, ‘Go Construct’, provides online guidance and case studies for prospective employees - and employers - on a range of diversity topics, including gender and race. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/09/2017 answer text <p>Many people choose to be self-employed because of the greater autonomy it gives them over when they work and what work they do.</p><p> </p><p>In February 2016 the Department of Business Innovation and Skills published research on self-employment. This showed that 84% of self-employed people thought their life overall was better in self-employment, compared with being an employee, and over half believed they were better off financially.</p><p> </p><p>The Matthew Taylor Review of Modern Working Practices looked at ways to ensure that the regulatory framework surrounding employment, and the support Government provides to businesses and workers, were keeping pace with changes in the labour market and the economy, including the rise in self-employment.</p><p> </p><p>This Government will give the report the careful consideration it deserves and will respond in full later this year.</p> answering member constituency Stourbridge answering member printed Margot James question first answered 12/09/2017 15:46:27 answering member 4115 label Biography information for Margot James

The accepted accounting principle is that data purchased by a company can be recognised as an intangible asset on a company’s balance sheet. We have provided a framework to build on the strengths of different places and address the factors that hold others back. This will include investing in key infrastructure projects, increasing skill levels, and backing local innovation strengths.</p><p>In the North East the Industrial Strategy will build on the £379.6m million Local Growth Fund awarded to the North East LEP as part of their Growth Deal, which will see investment in significant infrastructure projects such as the International Advanced Manufacturing Park, and in new technologies at the Centre for Innovation in Formulation.
