answer text
The RAF Police, together with RAF Valley authorities, maintains routine contact with the North Wales Police. The current assessment is that there is a negligible potential security risk to North Wales associated with training Saudi pilots at RAF Valley so there have been no specific discussions with North Wales Police on this subject. All such assessments are kept under constant review.
more like this

answer text
The Ministry of Defence works with a range of partners to ensure that serving personnel and veterans receive the mental health support they need. Last year we published a new Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy setting out measures to further improve the mental health of the Armed Forces. Earlier this year we commissioned a new 24/7 Mental Health Helpline for serving personnel and their families from Combat Stress, linking into its existing service for veterans.
more like this

answer text
The Government's assessment of Daesh has not changed significantly since my right hon. Friend the Defence Secretary's statement to the House on 11 July 2018 (Official Report, column 973). The Coalition continues to target Daesh in the final pocket of territory they hold in north east Syria, which is approximately 1% of the territory they once held across both Iraq and Syria. Loss of territory has reduced their access to resources but Daesh remain a significant threat, including to Iraq from over the border with Syria. Through Coalition efforts, Daesh has lost thousands of personnel, but significant numbers of Daesh fighters remain in Syria and Iraq as well as in the surrounding region.

Daesh's intent remains to strike the West and Western interests. There remains a significant threat to our interests from Daesh's affiliates. The Government therefore continues its counter-Daesh efforts. We will continue to keep the House updated on the progress of the counter-Daesh campaign.

answer text
The authority to cancel or reschedule a recruitment or training event sits at all levels of the Duty Holder Concept. This empowers the Delivery Duty Holder, at the lowest level of the construct, to cancel or reschedule if they are not able to keep risk as low as reasonably practicable. In cases where there is an imperative to run an event, which is unlikely to be the case for recruitment/selection activities, decision making may be escalated to the next levels of the Duty Holder Concept to consider the risk and provide additional senior guidance and/or resources to mitigate any safety shortfalls, or confirm cancellation.

The Delivery Duty Holder may not always be the person directly responsible for an event. As a result there is also a Duty of Care process which ensures that those responsible for the running of an event are still empowered with the authority to stop that activity until it is safe to proceed.

The information on cancellation of events is not held centrally in the format requested. In line with the Duty Holder Concept, events will be adapted (e.g. location or dates changed to mitigate risks) or cancelled.
