<p>We continue to hope that we will one day once again enjoy a strong partnership
with the Russian government and we remain open to a different relationship in future
– one where Russia desists from attacks that undermine international treaties and
international security, and its actions that undermine the territorial integrity of
its neighbours - and instead acts together with us to fulfil the common responsibilities
we share as permanent members of the UN Security Council. As long as Russia persists
in its efforts to undermine our interests and values, we will continue to deter and
counter them.</p>
