answer text <p>The UK Government continues to monitor the return of Afghans from Pakistan, including the humanitarian and human rights implications. We are working closely with Pakistan, the United Nations and other international partners to support vulnerable undocumented people returning to Afghanistan. Pakistan has a long history of welcoming vulnerable refugees and we urge them to respect the human rights of all Afghans in Pakistan. Since September, we have committed £18.5 million to the International Organisation for Migration in Afghanistan to support those returning from Pakistan and Iran.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The UK strongly condemns violence against Christians in Pakistan. Protecting Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB), including for minority communities, remains central to the UK Government's human rights engagement in Pakistan. The Foreign Secretary raised the persecution of religious communities, including recent attacks against the Christian community in Jaranwala, with Pakistan's Prime Minister, Anwaral Haq Kakar on 25 September. On 21 August, Lord (Tariq) Ahmad of Wimbledon, Minister for South Asia wrote to Pakistan's caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani, urging the Government to ensure the safety of the Christian community following the attacks in Jaranwala. Lord Ahmad also raised the issue with Foreign Minister Jilani when they met on 13 September and in his meeting with the Pakistani High Commissioner on 6 September.</p> more like this

The UK's new Developing Countries Trading Scheme (DCTS) ensures that 94% of goods exported from Pakistan are eligible for duty-free access to the UK, saving £120 million in tariffs on exports. answer text <p>We regularly discuss shared threats with the Government of Pakistan, including those relating to terrorism and especially those coming from Afghanistan. UK counter-terrorism assistance to Pakistan has focussed on protecting civilians, strengthening rule of law and developing civilian counter-terrorism institutions.</p><p>We continue to monitor the political situation in Pakistan closely. Lord (Tariq) Ahmad of Wimbledon, Minister for South Asia, spoke with the caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Jilani on 12 September, to emphasise the importance of peaceful democratic processes and human rights. In a letter to caretaker Foreign Minister Jilani on 21 August, Lord Ahmad emphasised the need for Pakistan's citizens to be able to exercise their democratic rights and participate in peaceful, inclusive, credible elections.</p> more like this

The Consular Contact Centre has received 4,121 calls (as of 18:00 26 April) since Friday 15 April, although some of these will represent multiple calls concerning the same consular case.</p><p>So far around 3,400 British nationals have registered their presence with the Foreign Office Crisis Hub. [correct as of 00.00 28 April]. We do not collect data on where nationals come from within the UK.</p><p>Since 25 April we have assisted the departure of 895 (as of 0500 28 April) British nationals through flights to Cyprus. We will continue to evacuate British nationals from Sudan as the situation allows.</p> more like this
