The Carbon Budget Delivery Plan remains Government policy and sets out over 300 policies and proposals the Government has in place to reach its carbon budget targets.</p><p> </p><p>The judgment contains no criticism of these detailed plans nor the policies themselves, which will keep the UK on track to meet our international commitments, including the 2030 Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) under the Paris Agreement, and Net Zero by 2050.</p><p> </p><p>Officials are considering the best approach to comply with the court order and Government will publish a new report within 12 months.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Following Mr Boamah’s inquest in 2019 we provided a response to the Coroner’s Prevention of Future Deaths report, which is published on the judiciary website.</p><p> </p><p>Since 2019 we have created a central team in the Customer Experience Directorate to focus on strategically supporting our most vulnerable customers.</p><p> </p><p>During 2020 we also revised and developed internal guidance for colleagues to help customers who require advanced support (published March 2021).</p><p> </p><p>We have also appointed 31 regional Advanced Customer Support Senior Leaders across Great Britain whose role is to provide targeted support to claimants needing advanced help.</p><p> </p><p>Regarding large one-off payments of Personal Independence Payment to vulnerable customers (as occurred in the case cited), updated guidance for staff was introduced in April this year (2021).</p><p><strong> </strong></p> more like this

They are internal reviews that check if process was followed, in order to encourage learning and to drive change through the Department. We have no plans to publish any Internal Process Reviews or their conclusions, but will continue to follow our duties under the Freedom of Information Act, in line with the 2016 First Tier Tribunal ruling on what information can lawfully be disclosed.</p><p> </p><p>The steps the Department has taken following the cases in question is outlined in our responses to the relevant Prevention of Future Deaths reports. answer text <p>Internal Process Reviews form a core part of the Department’s overall approach to investigating the circumstances of a case where potential issues have been identified.</p><p>We have made significant improvements to Internal Process Reviews, which including forming the Internal Process Review Group, chaired by the Customer Experience Director in 2020, to established to increase oversight of IPRs at a more senior level.</p><p>We are improving the tracking and monitoring of improvements from all IPRs to ensure IPR reports are now being drafted to new consistent standards, raising the visibility of IPRs across the Department.</p><p> </p><p>DWP have undertaken 4 Peer Reviews and 139 Internal Process Reviews involving either a customer death or serious harm from the operational year 2015-16 to date.</p><p>The Department replaced Peer Reviews with Internal Process Reviews in 2015. Due to the Department’s document retention policies, we do not hold a complete record of cases prior to 2015-16.</p><p> </p><p>The Department has commenced and concluded 2 Internal Process Reviews following receipt of a Prevention of Future Death Report.</p><p> </p>
