The Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government considers a wide range of information around individual local authorities in order to form judgements about the scale of challenge they may face. An at risk local authority is one where it is judged that, in the near future, the local authority may not be able to continue to deliver a consistent quality of service across a range of priorities. This can be due to a range of pressures, including financial.
