answer text <p>The Government has committed to protect flood maintenance funding in real terms over the course of this Parliament.</p><br /><p>The Environment Agency does not record the number of personnel working solely on maintaining flood defences, as the relevant staff undertake a number of activities, including both operating and maintaining defences.
