Since 1995, investment in sewage treatment has achieved a 61% reduction in the amount of phosphorus and a 72% reduction in the amount of ammonia discharged to rivers. We are leading global efforts through the Commonwealth Clean Ocean Alliance, which we support with a package worth up to £70m. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/07/2019 answer text <p>The Environment Bill measures are currently being finalised and will be published in due course.</p><p>On netting specifically, while it is not an offence to use netting to exclude birds from potential nesting sites, such action should only be used to help protect birds during development. It is for those who take exclusion measures to ensure the mesh size of netting is suitable for the species involved and is properly maintained so they don’t harm wild birds. This fund has previously supported chemicals recycling projects.
