We reiterate our previous calls on the parties to the 2015 Algiers Peace Agreement to take immediate steps to advance the peace process. We are also deeply concerned by the increase in terrorist and intercommunal attacks in the centre of Mali. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/05/2019 answer text <p>​The UK continues to be deeply concerned at the worsening humanitarian situation in the North-West and South-West (Anglophone) regions of Cameroon and the reports of human rights violations and abuses committed by both security forces and separatists. Violence is driving people from their homes, and impacting on the lives of ordinary civilians, particularly women and children. The UK is providing lifesaving assistance to 10,000 people in the Anglophone regions following a £2.5m contribution to UNICEF in December.</p><p>The British Government regularly raises concerns about the political, human rights, and humanitarian situation with the Government of Cameroon. Further to a phone call in March with Cameroon Prime Minister, Joseph Ngute, on 30 April, I met with the Cameroon High Commissioner to London to reiterate UK concerns. We discussed the plight of the 530,000 people who have been internally displaced within the Anglophone regions, the 32,000 refugees in Nigeria who have fled from the crisis, and the arrest and detention of Opposition Leader, Maurice Kamto and other political actors. I urged the Government of Cameroon to urgently take steps to establish a credible dialogue to tackle the root causes of the crisis in the Anglophone regions, and ensure fair and timely trial, or release, of detainees. The UK continues to call for unhindered humanitarian access to affected populations, and investigations into all reports of human rights violations and abuses. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/05/2019 answer text <p>​UK assistance is making a significant contribution to supporting Somaliland’s ongoing democratisation process, including through: improving the accountability of the judiciary and public security structures; strengthening the technical capability of the National Electoral Commission; and building understanding between government and journalists through support to a new media law. Nevertheless, there remain significant challenges on which we are engaging with the Government of Somaliland, for example, on the continued political marginalisation of women and minority clans, and the ongoing arbitrary detention of journalists. We do not maintain an exhaustive list of countries where evidence of travel insurance cover may be required as a condition of entry, as a range of evidence can be requested as part of individual visa applications. British people travelling abroad can check the relevant FCO travel advice country page for information and advice on entry requirements for their destination country, and should contact the embassy of the country they are visiting if they need further guidance about their eligibility to enter. EAM are only activated when a terrorist attack has occurred, and then only in exceptional circumstances, and on a case-by case basis. Progress in implementing these commitments, in particular an independent National Human Rights Commission, forms a regular part of our dialogue with the FGS. The UK also provides a range of assistance that directly support human rights in Somalia such as working with Somali Security Forces to help provide protection for all civilians in accordance with international human rights standards.</p><p>Ultimately, a stable and inclusive political settlement is the most important aspect to ensure that Somalia is able to protect human rights for all its citizens, and to end impunity for perpetrators of abuse.
