answer text <p>​Whilst we do not hold data on the registration of sex offenders in the UK, from 2013 to 2017 the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO)responded to 361 requests for consular assistance from UK nationals who had been arrested for child sex offences overseas. The FCO is not notified of the arrest of all UK nationals overseas. The Vienna Convention on Consular Relations 1963 (Article 36) provides for an Embassy to be informed of an arrest only if the individual requests it.</p> more like this

answer text <p>​We have made changes in response to both the 2014 Foreign Affairs Committee report and the FCO's own internal review (which was also carried out in 2014). Most notably, the FCO created a dedicated team to handle Murder and Manslaughter cases. Since its creation in 2015, this team has supported over 200 families. answer text <p>Our travel advice for Cameroon is reviewed and updated regularly and covers a range of topics including safety and security, terrorism and local laws and customs.</p><p>We made changes to the areas where we advise against all, or all but essential, travel as recently as 27 March 2018 and updated our guidance on 6 April 2018 to reflect the risk of kidnapping.</p><p>More than 5,500 travellers are currently subscribed to our Cameroon travel advice updates. However, we remain concerned about the high level of violent crime in South Africa, including in rural and isolated areas such as farms. answer text <p>Following the victory of President Maada Bio in the Presidential run-off in Sierra Leone on 4 April, there were sporadic outbreaks of violence, but the country remained largely calm. The President issued a statement condemning the violence and has initiated a cross-party committee to address incidents of political violence and intimidation across the country.</p><p>The UK worked closely with Sierra Leone on election preparations and has done considerable work on policing and security sector reform to support stability in the country. We were pleased to see the Sierra Leone Police and security services respond well to the challenges of the election period. We will continue to work with the new administration to promote inclusive sustainable development in Sierra Leone.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>The UK has not had any recent discussions with the US administration about its bilateral economic sanctions regime, which it decided to lift on 6 October last year. The US decision, welcomed by the UK, was an important step in Sudan's re-engagement with the international community. We continue to work with the Government of Sudan towards a more peaceful, prosperous country for all Sudanese citizens.</p><p>The UK is subject to and continues to support the UN arms embargo on Darfur, and the EU arms embargo on the whole of Sudan.</p> more like this
