<p>Last December, the Government issued updated guidance to central government departments
on how to ensure that they take full account of the value provided by UK steel producers
when conducting their procurement activities; and extended this guidance to the wider
public sector.</p><p> </p><p>Since publication of the guidance, the Government has
been working closely with departments to monitor the impact and effectiveness of the
guidance. Further work is ongoing to test the accuracy of the figures and therefore
we are not in a position to publish the data publicly.</p><p>The Government also published
its indicative future steel requirements to 2020 in December, to enable UK steel manufacturers
