answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/06/2019 answer text <p>Where a translator is unavailable to carry out a substantive asylum interview, the Home Office will look to rebook the interview when a translator for the preferred language is next available.</p><p>On the rare occasion where we are unable to source a translator to carry out the substantive asylum interview, we would seek to use a detailed witness statement provided by the applicant, to decide the asylum claim.</p><p>The Home Office will continue to explore and act upon potential interpreter recruitment avenues, both regionally and nationally, for all languages. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/02/2019 answer text <p>The Home Office is putting in place measures to ensure that the EU Settlement Scheme is streamlined, user-friendly and accessible to all prospective applicants. There will be a broad range of support in place. These include offering assisted digital support for those who cannot access or are not confident with technology, and the Settlement Resolution Centre which will be able to assist with questions relating to the application process.</p><p>We currently have 13 locations where applicants can have their ID document scanned, if they choose to do so. Once the scheme is fully open, by 30 March 2019, there will be over 50 locations across the UK where applicants can have their identity document scanned. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/01/2019 answer text <p>It was reported at Home Affairs Select Committee on 13<sup>th</sup> November that approximately 4,100 posts would be needed for EU Exit. These are being sourced through a combination of recruitment and internal redeployment.</p><p>In general it does not make sense to draw a hard distinction between what is needed for ‘deal’ compared with ‘no deal’ as much of the capacity requirement is similar. Moreover we would expect to meet most of our additional requirements for ‘no deal’ through redeployment – reprioritising staff away from other activities.
