answer text <p>There are no plans to introduce such legislation. As Lord Ashcroft highlighted in his recent review of transition arrangements, the measures we already have in place ensure that the vast majority of Service leavers make a successful transition to civilian life. Amongst many others, these measures include:<br><br>- resettlement and career assistance from the Ministry of Defence funded Career Transition Partnership;<br>- funding for nationally recognised qualifications through Enhanced Learning Credits and;<br>- a range of schemes to help veterans and their families secure appropriate accommodation, detailed in the answer I gave on 28 April 2014, (Official Report, columns 442-443W) to the hon. Member for Windsor (Mr Afriyie).<br><br>Healthcare provided by the National Health Service is already bespoke to individual needs, and reflects the aspirations of the Armed Forces covenant.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The outflow and inflow figures available for RAF Engineer (Aerosystems) officers and aircraft tradesmen, for each financial year, are set out in the tables below:</p><p> </p><p>The inflow targets during this period were adjusted in line with the requirement to reduce the regular strength of the RAF. The reduction in inflow was partly due to the reduced requirement for engineering personnel following the removal of aircraft fleets such as Harrier and Nimrod.</p><p> </p><p>The increase in outflow relates to the redundancy programme. answer text <p>The provision of healthcare for veterans in the UK is the responsibility of NHS(England) and the Devolved Administrations. For NHS(England) this is the responsibility of individual GP-led Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs). The comprehensive services CCGs commission reflect local priorities and the aspirations of the Armed Forces Covenant. <br><br>When mobilised, a Reservist has the same entitlement to healthcare provided by Defence Medical Services as a Regular Service person. The Defence Medical Rehabilitation Programme provides rehabilitation for injured or ill personnel, including Reservists mobilised for operations. The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is extending rehabilitation services to Reservists injured during training; which will facilitate their return to fitness.<br><br>The MOD also provides War Disablement Pensions under the War Pensions Scheme if Reservists are no longer serving in HM Armed Forces and their disablement arose before 6 April 2005. The Armed Forces Compensation Scheme provides compensation for any injury, illness or death which is caused by service on or after 6 April 2005. <br><br>Help and advice is available to all veterans, including Reserves, from Veterans UK (formerly the Service Personnel and Veterans Agency). Information about how to claim a war pension or AFCS is available from Veterans UK at www.veterans.uk.info, or email veterans.help@spva.gsi.gov.uk or free helpline 0808 1914 2 18. Veterans UK can signpost individuals to other sources of assistance including the Veteran's Welfare Service, which provides dedicated welfare support to veterans (including Reserves), their families, and dependants.</p>

answer text <p>Foreign and Commonwealth personnel with four years service in the Armed Forces service can apply, in the interim, for settlement. This process regularises their immigration status while they qualify and meet the mandated Home Office criteria to apply for citizenship. <br><br>The Ministry of Defence has completed an analysis of personnel records and I can confirm that no Foreign and Commonwealth personnel with less than four years service were made redundant since 2010. Therefore redundancy from the Armed Forces would not have prevented personnel from applying for settlement or citizenship.</p> more like this

answer text <p> </p><p>We have made no assessment of legislative proposals along these lines. We have robust measures in place to prepare our Service personnel for civilian employment as well as addressing any accommodation, welfare, health and domestic needs and concerns. As Lord Ashcroft highlighted in his recent review of transition arrangements, these measures ensure that the vast majority of Service leavers make a successful transition to civilian life.<br><br>All Service leavers are entitled to resettlement assistance from the Ministry of Defence funded Career Transition Partnership (CTP), and around 85% of those who use the CTP are employed within six months of leaving. In addition, all Service leavers are entitled to housing and financial advice and, through the Officers Association or the Regular Forces Employment Association, lifetime job finding support.<br><br>While in Service, our personnel can receive skills, qualifications and experience accredited to nationally recognised standards to ease the transition back into the civilian work place. In addition, we provide financial support to conduct vocational as well as professional advancement. <br><br>We also support a range of schemes to help veterans and their families secure appropriate accommodation. For information about the guidance and support the Department provides, I refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave on 28 April 2014, (Official Report, columns 442-3W) to the hon. Member for Windsor (Mr Afriyie).</p>
