answer text <p>My Rt. Hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Transport announced on 23 December 2014 funding allocations for local highway authorities in England between 2015/16 and 2020/21. This includes over £92 million for Hertfordshire. This funding can be used to reduce the number of potholes on the local road network.</p><p> </p><p>It is for each local highway authority to improve the condition of the local road network through planned preventative maintenance. answer text <p>The Government’s Road Investment Strategy has committed £15bn to deliver 127 schemes on the strategic road network over the next five years. Some of these schemes will tackle longstanding congestion and safety problems as well as major capacity enhancements around Yorkshire. answer text <p>The Department published its Strategic Framework for Road Safety in 2011. Actions were implemented in all three framework areas, improving road safety together, education, and targeted enforcement and sanctions.</p><p> </p><p>A full progress report from 2013 is available on GOV.UK. Since then the Department has also made it an offence to drive with certain levels of drugs in your body; and drivers cannot demand a blood or urine test if they fail a breathalyser test anymore.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p> </p> more like this
