<p>The government is currently undertaking a detailed policy design process on the
introduction of breathing space and a statutory debt repayment plan. The government
is working in close conjunction with stakeholders to design a scheme that works for
all those who would benefit from the scheme’s protections.</p><p> </p><p>The government
will consult on a single policy proposal based on this work later this summer, and
then intends to lay regulations to establish the scheme in 2019.</p>
