Halogen bulbs have been used in cars for many years but no specific assessment has been made of their effect on drivers’ eyesight. However, in response to a UK initiative, an international review of the glare effect of modern vehicle lighting is underway at the UN-ECE technical expert group and should report by the end of the year.
