<p>DFID routes ODA funding for research into the development of vaccines and other
medical tools to tackle COVID-19 through Product Development Partnership and other
multilateral not for profit organisations. Besides having the best scientific expertise
in their respective field, these funding platforms also have the legal and administrative
expertise to ensure that, once developed, products are affordable and accessible to
provide low and middle-income countries with the tools they need to tackle this disease
in their country.</p>
