Total allocations for 2014/15 will depend on decisions to be taken on the basis of evolving needs. In Iraq, the UK has allocated £23m of humanitarian aid for 2014/15.</p><p> </p><p>In Iraq, DFID support has included airdrops of assistance onto Mount Sinjar and in the Iraqi town of Amerli. The UK recently pledged up to £1 billion to Gavi for 2016 to 2020. The full UK contribution to Gavi will save a child’s life every two minutes. This funding will be disbursed in tranches on an annual basis. The full UK funding will be released so long as the total amount committed by donors meets Gavi’s replenishment target of $7.5 billion. Our programmes aim to increase the ability of poor people to cope with the impacts of climate-related shocks, including droughts, floods and storms, and to build their resilience to future changes in climate. The International Climate Fund (ICF) is the UK Government’s vehicle for delivering climate finance assistance and other forms of support, such as technical assistance.
